In keeping with the ever fascinating 'fall foliage', Slow Autumn offers seven weeks dedicated to the nature of the National Park. To breathe and admire the autumn discovering one of the most fascinating natural spectacles: the colours of the forest, with its most intense colour effects, which only light up for a few days with infinite shades of yellow, red, green and orange.
Excursions, walks, workshops, exhibitions, photography workshops, festivals, tastings and many special events will make you experience the magic of autumn landscapes, discovering a territory and its most prestigious cultural and food and wine proposals.
Therefore, also an ideal autumn for 'slow eating', savouring the local recipes based on typical products of the season such as mushrooms, chestnuts, pumpkins, honey, raveggiolo cheese from the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, Tuscan pecorino cheese and other delicious flavours inherited from ancient recipes and protected by Slow Food.
Approximately from mid-September to mid-October, walking through the woods you may hear the powerful sound of the deer in love: the roar! The male deer challenge each other bellowing to claim the possession of the females against other suitors.
